22nd March 2023 - Special Edition

Hi Loyal Dairy Planet Readers,

One of our valued Dairy Planet recipients has pointed out an error in the first point regarding Chinese WMP imports. It seems that there was no preferential tariff window this year as it was oversubscribed in previous years and this is the last year of the old arrangement so the one remaining year to balance the over use in previous years. The would certainly explain the dramatic fall in imports for January compared to previous. Going forward, from 2024 the tariff will reduce to 0%. This doesn’t change the fact that the previous predictability of heavy ordering toward the end of the year will no longer be as set in stone. A big thanks to our reader for the correction, this very much aligns with our core value of “We Learn”.
